The app measures your room with the LiDAR scanner, which Apple fits only to Pro models. It needs:
On any other iPhone the app shows a "LiDAR Required" screen at launch. There is no software substitute: without LiDAR there is no room geometry to measure.
The first surfaces take a few seconds while the camera and tracking start up. Hold the phone up, turn slowly, and make sure the room is lit. Very dark rooms and blank glossy walls give the scanner little to work with.
Room classification comes from Apple's scene understanding and occasionally calls a door a window. Tap the ✕ on that card in the light list to remove it — it stays removed for the rest of the session.
Point the camera at it for a moment during the scan. If it still does not appear you can add a light manually and place it where the real one is.
It is a relative figure for comparing spots and lighting setups within the same room. It is not a measured brightness in lux and should not be compared between rooms.
Open the report, tap Unlock full report, then Restore purchase. The unlock is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple Account and works on all your devices.

The app works entirely on your device. Nothing is collected unless you switch on an optional diagnostics setting, and even then it is anonymous numbers only — never images, never your location. See the privacy policy.
The app's light-fixture detector was trained by us on two openly licensed datasets. No images from either dataset are included in the app.
